Hard Labor Creek State Park Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Rutledge, Georgia. The course is one of eight Georgia State Park, Golf Courses. All eight of Georgia's State Park Golf Courses are surrounded by sparkling lakes and thick forests, not subdivisions. That means no distractions (and no excuses).
The Creek at Hard Labor Golf Course first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Denis Griffiths.
The Creek at Hard Labor Golf Course is considered the most difficult of the state park golf courses in Georgia.
It isn't long at only 6,426 yards from the back tees, but it has awkward angles off the tee that, with all the elevation changes, can get you in trouble.
Many of the approach shots are difficult, either, playing into difficult greens. Hard Labor Creek makes its presence known on five holes.
The Creek at Hard Labor Golf Course is laid out nicely in an upland pine and hardwood forest, with steep-walled creek bottoms and granite outcroppings. There's also loblolly pine and flowering dogwood in this hilly part of the Piedmont. It's a beautiful place to golf, especially in the fall and spring
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,426 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,657 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 516 yards. The shortest hole on The Creek at Hard Labor Golf Course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 133 yards from the back tees.

Really liked the course. Next time I'd like to play it a bit later in the season when all the grass is grown in. Loved the tall Georgia pines.
